Add News

Constituency Profile1:

Since it's creation in 1945, this constituency has continuously seen a Conservative MP hold this seat, with a considerable majority to boot. The former cabinet minister Sir Norman Fowler was returned in Sutton from 1974 until he stood down in 2001when it passed to Andrew Mitchell.

Recent changes to the boundary for the 2010 elections have not had much of an effect on this constituency's borders.

Sutton Coldfield is made up of a mostly middle-class population and is a leafy suburban area on the outskirts of Birmingham, with the majority of it's inhabitants commuting to Birmingham itself in order to find employment. Update Test
